Introducing Neurosoma
More and more of us are feeling stressed, anxious and disconnected from ourselves, and we could all use some help reconnecting. But one-to-one therapy isn't within everyone's reach, so I built a free, evidence-based nervous system training course, developed to a professional standard, to make this knowledge and these practical tools available to anyone who needs them.
Whether you're an individual wanting to feel more like yourself again, or an organisation supporting the wellbeing of your people, the starting point is the same: understanding and reconnecting with your nervous system.
The FREE Neuro-Somatic Awareness training course is a series of twelve short video modules that teach how the nervous system works and how to bring it back into balance. And for those who need to go deeper, Neuro-Somatic Therapy offers paid one-to-one support. Free education for all, and personal support for those who want it.
We Are All Living In Our Heads
Most of us spend almost all of our time in our heads - thinking, planning, analysing, worrying - and very little time genuinely in our bodies. And the more stressed life becomes, the more we retreat upwards into thought, further from the body where our feelings actually live.
So much of what we call the mental health crisis comes down to this. We're not broken, and we're not weak - we've simply become disconnected from the body. So, we're left trying to manage everything with our mind alone, until it becomes overwhelmed, anxious and burnt out. The problem was never really in your head - it's the disconnection between head and body.
That's exactly what the name points to - neuro (mind) and soma (body). When the mind and body reconnect, the nervous system can finally settle, and clearer thinking, steadier emotions and genuine wellbeing follow.
Why the Nervous System Holds the Answer
So, what's actually going on? The autonomic nervous system governs how safe, calm and capable we feel. When it's regulated, people think clearly, have good resilience and recover well. When it's chronically dysregulated, they live in fight, flight or shutdown, then stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue and burnout inevitably follow.
Most wellbeing initiatives work on thoughts and behaviour. Neurosoma works one level deeper, with the physiology that drives them, through nervous system regulation.
Education comes first, because you can't regulate what you don't understand, and nervous system regulation is the foundation of genuine recovery.
"Mental Health" Requires Nervous System Health
Stress, anxiety, burnout and absenteeism aren't mindset problems - they're nervous system problems.
When people are stretched beyond their capacity for too long, the nervous system gets stuck in survival mode. Performance drops, sickness rises, and no amount of mindset or resilience training gets to the root of it.
The nervous system chooses safety over success, every time. When people feel unsafe at work, whether that's chronic stress, anxiety, an unmanageable workload, or simply not feeling respected, the nervous system shifts its resources towards survival and away from the functions good work depends on. Focus narrows, judgement wavers, problem-solving drops, creativity stalls, collaboration frays, and emotions become harder to steady. No one performs at their best from that state, however capable or motivated they are.
And safety isn't something people can choose to feel. The nervous system makes that call automatically, below conscious awareness, which is why telling people to manage their stress or build resilience is asking them to control something that isn't under their direct control. Individuals can't "mindset" their way to feeling safe, organisations have to create the conditions of safety - especially if they want happy, healthy, well-performing staff. Part of creating those conditions is giving the whole business nervous system regulation skills, so people can stay steady under pressure instead of tipping into survival mode. And it matters most at the top, because a manager's own state shapes the conditions everyone beneath them works in. A regulated leader steadies a team, but a dysregulated leader stresses a team. Regulation at every level is how an organisation builds safety, wellbeing and performance from the inside.
In short, wellbeing and performance aren't separate agendas - safety is the precondition for both. Teaching people to regulate their nervous system brings their full capability back online, and that's exactly what the free Neuro-Somatic Awareness course is built to do.
A 2026 survey of 1,500 HR leaders across ten countries bears this out, finding chronic stress and burnout to be the single biggest factor harming employee mental health - ahead of workload, financial pressure and poor leadership.
The nervous system is the first place the pressures of modern life show up, and where the effects build over time.
These figures speak for themselves:
%
of UK employees experience burnout
lost per employee each year to stress and burnout
annual cost of poor employee health to UK business
%
of all work-related ill health is depression, stress or anxiety
%
of UK adults experience high pressure or stress
working days lost to stress, depression and anxiety each year
And the cost of inaction isn't only measured in lost days. In 2026, failing to act on an employee's stress concerns cost a UK employer over £990,000, a reminder that nervous system health is now a business risk too. [The Racing Post]
How Neurosoma Helps
Most organisations have already invested in wellbeing, yet the spending often fails to reach people where it counts. One striking finding from Wellhub's Return on Wellbeing 2026 report captures it: 77% of executives believe their employees' wellbeing improved over the past year, while only 33% of employees agree. The awareness is there and the budget is largely spent, but it isn't landing where it counts. This is exactly where Neurosoma helps - not another wellness platform to roll out or budget to defend, but accessible nervous system support that reaches people directly, wherever they are.
The FREE Neuro-Somatic Awareness course puts practical regulation tools in the hands of your whole team at no cost, and Neuro-Somatic Therapy is there for anyone who needs to go further. Neurosoma is wellbeing that doesn't depend on a manager having spare capacity, or a budget being signed off, to reach the people who need it.
Free Nervous System Training
Neuro-Somatic Awareness is a free online programme of video and audio modules. It teaches what dysregulation is, why it happens, and the practical nervous system regulation tools that bring the body back into balance.
For individuals it's a powerful introduction to nervous system health, and a gateway to one-to-one support if needed. For organisations it's a genuinely valuable team resource that costs nothing to access.
Paid One-to-One Therapy
Neuro-Somatic Therapy is one-to-one online therapy for people who need more than a course can offer. Body-centred and trauma-informed, it addresses the root causes of dysregulation, not just the symptoms.
It's available for direct referral from HR, wellness and wellbeing leads, or bookable directly by individuals. Sessions are private, confidential and completely independent of the employer.

Meet Lee Bladon
Neurosoma Founder and Creator of Neuro-Somatic Therapy
I'm Lee Bladon, integrative therapist, somatic psychotherapist and nervous system specialist. "Integrative" simply means I work with the whole person - body, heart and mind - because mental health, emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation and physical health are all deeply interconnected. My one-to-one work goes beyond symptom management to explore and resolve the underlying patterns that contribute to distress and ill health.
I created Neurosoma to bring together everything I've learned over 15+ years of study, practice and personal experience of nervous system dysregulation and recovery.
My approach integrates somatic psychotherapy, nervous system regulation and trauma-informed practice to create lasting change at a deeper level.
The Science Behind Neurosoma
Neurosoma's approach is grounded in the neuroscience of the autonomic nervous system, polyvagal theory, heart rate variability, neuroplasticity and somatic psychotherapy. These aren't wellness trends; they're well-established fields with growing bodies of peer-reviewed evidence.
Understanding how the nervous system works, and why it gets stuck, is the foundation of everything we do.

What is Neurosoma?
Neurosoma is a nervous system education, regulation and recovery service for individuals and organisations. It offers the FREE Neuro-Somatic Awareness programme and one-to-one Neuro-Somatic Therapy.
What is nervous system regulation?
Nervous system regulation is the process of helping the autonomic nervous system shift out of chronic stress and survival states and back into a balanced state of safety, rest and recovery.
Is Neuro-Somatic Therapy available online?
Yes. All sessions are held online via Zoom. Online work is just as effective as in-person, because the nervous system responds to safety and attunement regardless of location.
How does Neurosoma differ from an EAP?
Most EAPs offer short-term talking therapy that addresses symptoms. Neurosoma works at the physiological level through nervous system regulation, so change holds rather than fading once sessions end.
Is the Neuro-Somatic Awareness course really free?
Yes, completely. It requires no budget approval and no rollout project, which makes it easy for any organisation to offer its teams.
